Alex Chamber's Cape Hatteras Lighthouse - Don Byram Art

We all have seen a lot of pictures of the lighthouses on the East Coast over the past few days....so here is one more:) This is Alex Chamber's watercolor version of the Cape Hatteras Light House. I believe he took his inspiration for this painting from an old print (before they moved it), which is how he frequently paints many of his watercolors. You can see this and his other lighthouses at http://pics4everyone.com/7.html. All are rustic framed and matted, 22 1/2" x 18 1/2" and $45. — with Alex Chambers.

John Weber's Woodworks

A lot of people recognized this iconic scene of the Jekyll Island Club. It's one that's been photographed and painted many times. In fact, I've featured John Weber's photo of the chairs before on fb. But, because of his one of a kind "framing", it is always unique and always....well, one of a kind! This is his latest version and I love the red tones in the Georgia barn wood! 6.5"x 14.5" and $40. It is called "Just for Two" and can be viewed at http://www.pics4everyone.com/justfortwo.html

John Weber's Woodworks

BRAND SPANKIN' NEW from John Weber of Watkinsville. Called "Long Ago and Far Away", this is a contemplative view of Lumpkin Academy, a one-room schoolhouse built in 1910 by Oglethorpe County, Georgia, farmers and used as a school and community center until 1937. It is also one of John's Woodworks pieces. He mounts his wonderful photography on carefully selected pieces of wood to give each piece of art a one of a kind uniqueness. No two are every alike. To see his recently updated inventory, go to http://www.pics4everyone.com/johnweber1.html. Not only is this one beautiful, but it is also priced very reasonable at $25.

Stephanie Grafton - Dream Giver's Gallery - Don Byram Art

This is new work by Stephanie Grafton of Toccoa. She is an artist and friend that lives in Toccoa. One of the things that make Stephanie special (along with a big heart and easy smile) is she is developmentally disabled. One of the things I love about art, is that it levels the playing field for people. While Stephanie has difficulties in certain parts of her life (just like the rest of us!) she excels in other parts (just like the rest of us!). She excels in art (along with having a big heart)! Stephanie is currently being represented by Dianne Lawson and Dream Giver's Galley in downtown Toccoa.

"Sway Back Barn" by Alex Chambers

A favorite Alex Chamber's print called "Sway Back Barn". Life long Banks County resident Alex remembers this barn in Clarksville from years ago! What I love about a barn like this is the story and history it holds for the land and the people who lived here. It reminds me of the barn my Dad built with his Dad and it brings back the stories he told me of his childhood filled with mules, picking cotton, chasing chickens and eating watermelons still on the vine. For this and more of Alex's work, see http://pics4everyone.com/26.html.

Gholson family of Comer, GA at Don Byram Art

One of the most fascinating things about working in a frame shop is learning the stories that go along with the art and photographs you work with. These three prints are members of the Gholson family of Comer. They established a trust fund decades ago for the elementary school that, even to this day, helps fund some of teacher's salaries and activities of the school. What a wonderful legacy to leave! Art classes at Don Byram Art

Today's art class with our partners Visions and Vino was small in size, but big in scope! Each of these small seascapes were actually two painted layers deep in glass before you reached the back ground of summer beach sky with seagulls and delicate white clouds! Very beautiful 3-D work. Pictured are Molley, Olivia, Jamie, and Linda. Ericka had to sneak out early, but hers turned nicely also. Check out Visions and Vino's schedule for our store at www.visionsandvino.com.
